By Car:

From the East Bay: Take the Bay Bridge (Interstate 80) to San Francisco, exit on Harrison Street/Embarcadero ( first San Francisco exit from left lane), turn right on Harrison Street, left on The Embarcadero, and left on Washington Street. The entrance is between Battery and Sansome on Washington Street.

From the Peninsula and points south: From US101, follow the signs to the Bay Bridge, take the last San Francisco exit (Fourth Street/Embarcadero exit) from the right lane, turn left on Third Street, right on Folsom, left on The Embarcadero, left on Washington Street, and right on Sansome Street. From Interstate 280, stay in the two left lanes and remain on the freeway until it becomes King Street, stay on King Street until it becomes The Embarcadero, turn left on The Embarcadero, and left on Washington Street.

From Marin County and points north: Take US101 into San Francisco and follow it until Broadway. Go left on Broadway, right on Battery, and right on Washington.

Public parking:
Facilities are available in the area. Prices generally range from $9.00 to $18.00 per day. Street parking is scarce.

By BART:
Exit at Montgomery Station. The office is six blocks from the station at 630 Sansome Street. www.bart.org

By Bus:

By Train:
From the Peninsula, take Caltrain to the King Street Station, then take the #42 bus to Sansome at Washington. www.caltrain.org

Appointments and Interviews
Appointments are not needed to obtain information and forms, file applications, obtain employment authorization, or report violators of INS laws.
Appointment notices for Adjustment of Status interviews are sent out approximately two weeks in advance of the appointment.

Appointment notices for Citizenship interviews are sent out at least two weeks in advance of the appointment.

Rescheduling Appointment and Interview

If you are unable to keep an interview appointment, please notify this office as soon as possible, in writing. In your letter, please reference your name, identifying case information, and date for which your interview was scheduled. Failure to appear for an interview or failure to request rescheduling of an interview may result in the denial of your application.



Walk-Ins

To speak with an Immigration Information Officer, you must get a ticket available on a first-come, first-served basis. Only a limited number of tickets is available each day. Tickets for Adjustment of Status applicants will be issued, as available, between the hours of 6:45 AM until 12:00 Noon for same-day visits. Tickets for Employment Authorization Document applicants will be issued until 2:30 PM, as available, for same-day visits. For all other matters, tickets will be issued until the end of the business day, as available, for same-day visits. Please note that you may have to wait several hours until your number is called.
